Nice museum depicting the space development in India from the historic background to the present stage. Those who are interested in rocket science must visit it. This museum shows how India reach to its present stage in space and rocket science. Mobile phone is not allowed in the museum you can deposit at the security gate. This is also a show in the afternoon for the visitors. Thumba sounding rocket launching is nearby. I really enjoyed it.

Museum visit requires online application through their website. Every month, third Wednesday, they used to launch sounding rocket from the campus. So we selected 3rd Wednesday while applying. We reached around 10 in the morning, entered through canal side gate. Parking, cloak room, toilet and a small tea shop located near the entrance. We collected our pass from the office, locked our mobile phones inside the car and proceeded for the security check. After the security check they took us to the museum in their bus. So many school college students from Kerala and other states were present there inside the museum. So we couldn’t actually see all the exhibits there. After the museum visit, they took us to the sea side for watching the sounding rocket launch. On the way we saw the launching pad. View point for the visitors was located about 400 m far from the launching pad. View point is nothing but an open space close to the sea monitored by CISF. Better wear a hat and carry your water bottle. Count down started and at 11.45 sharp, it launched... few seconds.. it disappeared to the sky. Crowd dispersed; another bus took us to security gate. You can keep the entry pass with you as a souvenir.

High security area, camera, mobile phones are prohibited inside the museum, one need to deposit mobile and other gadgets at the security gate, one need to have booking for the visit into the centre. Booking available from online. Space museum is too good, lot of things there in the display. We spent around one hour inside the centre..and thinking about the space research and opportunities.. Want to visit this place again

Amazing place to look at our country's humble beginnings in this era of space exploration. A nice your would help you to become familiar with the efforts concentrated in achieving the current status of ISRO. Although, I feel there should have been some antique relics from that era, instead of all mockups..
